"Bluey"

Bluey has the distinction of being our first momma hen! Her egg was the first to hatch in August, 2021, bringing forth Olivine.

Unfortunately, Bluey is a brute. She's a bully and generally just not nice to the hens beneath her in the pecking order. She'll chase and pluck feathers out of others who are between her and food or just because they are nearby. We wish we could say something nicer about her, other than she does lay a super smooth beige egg for us most days. šŸ„š And, for that matter, she seems to be the most consistent in laying location - which is happily in the laying box!
