"Adeline"

Adeline, one of the original White Leghorn crew, is a practical leader. Indeed, all the Leghorns typically dominate all the other newer members of the flock. But Adeline has a confident, stern demeanor. She's not afraid to let others know when they are out of line, but she also doesn't go looking for trouble or be mean to the others unnecessarily (like Bluey is all_the_time).

However, Adeline also has had her share - indeed, continues to have more than her share of health issues. She doesn't seem to get enough calcium and has had a few bouts of broken eggs while in the process of laying them. There have even been a few incidences of eggs being laid without a shell at all. 

To help with calcium ingestion, we sometimes get creative in folding egg shells into leftovers and making sure they all get a fair share. 

We have also been concerned about Adeline binding up with an egg within - and have gone as far as giving her a warm bath at one point (it went better than expected!). But mostly we just try to pay attention and make sure she is getting enough food when she's not looking well.
